Holiday Tip #2: Bring the whole family to Night of Lights
When: December 19, starts @ 4pm
Where: Canyon Lodge, access from the Village Gondola or via shuttle buses from Eagle Lodge and Mammoth High School
Why: Kick off the holiday season with this festive celebration that everyone in the family will enjoy. Load up the Village Gondola and bring the whole family up to Canyon Lodge for a night full of music, fireworks, and tons of activities for the whole family. The signature event, a fireworks display and torch-light run down to Canyon Lodge is a can’t miss Mammoth tradition. There is also food and beverages (for all ages). The mesmerizing light display will have you in the holiday spirit in no time and keep you coming back for more year after year.

Holiday Tip #3: Snowshoe and cross country ski the Lakes Basin
When: 8:30 am to 5 pm Every Day
Where: Tamarack Lodge, right by Twin Lakes in the Lakes Basin
Why: Access the best views of the Mammoth Crest and the Mammoth Lakes Basin. Cross-country skiing out of Tamarack lodge gives you access to over 19 mi of groomed trails that go throughout the Lakes Basin and up to many of the alpine lakes in the area such as Horseshoe Lake, Lake Mary, and Lake George. The trails range from easier, beginner level trails, all the way up to strenuous expert level trails. Full-day passes for groomed XC trails are $28/day for adults and snowshoeing next to the groomed XC trails is free. For your convenience, Black Tie Skis now rents snowshoes for all ages, unfortunately we do not offer XC ski rentals.

Holiday Tip #4: Go snow tubing
When: Every Weekend (Thursday through Monday), 10 am to 5 pm
Where: Woolly’s Tube Park, Up Minaret Rd (towards Main Lodge) on the right hand side just before The Mill
Why: Kids big and small alike will enjoy sliding down the groomed tubing tracks at Woolly’s Tube Park and love the rope tow back up to the top even more!

Holiday Tip #5: Woolly’s Saturday Parade
When: December 26 (every Saturday except 12/19 – Night of Lights), 3:45 to 4:30 pm
Where: The Village, right outside of McCoy Sports
Why: The kids will love the complimentary hot chocolate, face painting and the chance to parade through the Village with Mammoth Mountain’s very own mascot, Woolly! With music and holiday spirit in the air this is a can’t miss family event every Saturday, right in the Village!

Holiday Tip #6: New Years Eve in Mammoth
When: December 31, 3:30 to 9 pm
Where: The Village
Why: End 2015 in style with family friendly festivities at the Village. Come eat, shop and hangout at The Village, Mammoth’s own pedestrian area. There will be plenty of fun all over the Village but be sure to stick around for the fireworks at 9. For the best viewing of the fireworks purchase tickets to access the deck on the Village Gondola. Tickets are $15 and on the deck there will be an exclusive gourmet hot chocolate for the kids and a cash bar for adults.
Those looking to party their way into the new year can head up to Canyon Lodge where music headliner Slow Magic will be serving up live music all night and into the morning. What a better way to end 2015 and start 2016 than by enjoying a champagne toast (complimentary with paid entrance) with your friends and loved ones right next to the slopes in Canyon Lodge! Doors open at 9pm and Tickets are $75 ($65 for Cali4nia pass holders) before 12/30 and $95 for everyone from 12/30 up to the event.
